so i got a laptop from work. the theory is that i can go on call now, but as of now, there’s no reason for me to go on call, so i pretty much just reap the benefits and suffer none of the downsides. so this post is coming from my brand new dell latitude d610 off a borrowed wifi connection. (apparently, much to my surprise, we have neighbors who are savvy enough to have wireless internet, but not enough to secure their connection. there’s a couple other secured connections, but conveniently enough, one of the the closest is unsecured. yay for me.)

i’m not entirely sure what i’m going to do with a laptop…i’m not going to install games or anything on it. but it’s pretty neat to have it around anyway. i’m sure the neat factor will wear off after a while. but for now, it’s got a dvd/cd-rw — which is better than my boxen have now, which is pretty spiff. not that i’ve used it yet. anyway, it’s neat.
