adventures in tyria: save the world from the undead lich, check

18 April 2006

so we “beat the game” in guild wars last night. there’s three major co-op missions at the end that are hard as hell, culminating in the Hell’s Precipice mission that seems to go on forever. i’m not going to include any spoilers here (not that you can’t find them elsewhere), but there’s a re-appearance of an old friendly character that you have to fight which everyone talks about being ridiculously hard, and wasn’t really that bad for us. the other thing of note is that we completed the game with two people and henchmen the entire time, so if anyone says it’s impossible to solo gw, they’re lying. i’m pretty proud of that accomplishment.

oh, and oddly enough the creepy guy who seems suspicious when he first appears in about the middle of the game, does, in fact, turn out to be…evil! and hell bent on ruling the world! *yawn* didn’t see that coming. nope….this is the guy who convinced his king to kill his entire civilization to save them from the Charr onslaught….nope, not evil….

after the game “ends” there’s still apparently some other quests. and there’s some other areas that we haven’t been to yet, so there’s still stuff to do. and we didn’t do most of the bonuses for the later missions. luckily, factions comes out next weekend (though we’ll be in yosemite for opening week….), so we finished the game sort of just in time.

anyway, w00t.
